Comments about the new ACCHOS compact disc recording

"It's as though heaven and the angels appeared to us mere mortals with the breath of God and spoke in God's magnificent voice -- 'You are Lord'!!! From the mighty 'wings of song' (track 10) to the 'depths of the sea' (track 14)!! this CD filled my soul with rejoicing!! Many thanks to all and loving blessings for continued Joy-ful music!"

As a side note, while much of the new ACCHOS CD is very interesting, some of the most impressive sounds are the *simple* ones -- the Diapasons used on the Bach T&FDm and on "Abide with Me" are surprisingly light and bright, and the 16' Dulzian (T&FDm pedal) does not seem at all like a reed on 35" pressure. You'd swear that a Positiv division is there, somewhere, but it is only the Great-Solo Gemshorns (on only 15") -- very sparkling.

There is a solo recording of the 64 foot reeds on the Atlantic City Organ on the new CD. Ed Kelly, the recordings engineer, did a great job getting these on tape. You feel them! They are amazing!

I have greatly enjoyed listening to my copy. This is a must have for every organ lover.

What a CD to behold!!!!! When I played the first cut my husband dashed into the room to see if a B-32 landed. (I'm not kidding!) Then, on comes the music - from Bach, through the `Miss America' Theme, and selections of Joplin, Gershwin, Gounod, Speaks, Vierne, Monk, Bourgeois, and Liszt (a 'Plaster Blaster'). To wrap up this neat little present: two demonstrations -- the 100-inch `Tuba Imperial' (which will blow the crown off anyone's head from eating `Imperial' margarine); and, the 64-foot `Diaphone - Dulzian' (a demonstration that rattled three pictures off the wall! This is a definite MUST for all to have in your organ recording collections.

You are absolutely right! I received my copy today and it is a "must have" record for any organ nut. The power of that organ is beyond anyone's imagination.

The recently issued CD of the Auditorium Organ at the Atlantic City Convention Hall is a worthy addition to any organ lovers collection. Go for it! With all the 'warts ‘n' all'!

I dare venture that if the ACCHOS instrument could be heard in its entirety, it would transform the thinking of an entire generation of organ folk in a heartbeat. The new CD so lovingly prepared by its devoted core of admirers provides a salutary lesson for us all. It is immediately obvious that this is a complete and well-thought-out concert instrument of the highest importance that does considerably more than genuflect daintily to the organ's classical past. It makes its statement with extraordinary conviction, style and elegance.

A tour through this job is an eye-opener as the pipe-work is some of the most beautiful imaginable. With such talented contributors as Henry Vincent Willis, Roscoe Evans and Anton Gottfried, not to mention the highly-qualified Midmer-Losh staff, could the result be
anything other than glorious?

He [Robert Elmore] said it could "move men's souls as no other organ anywhere".

"Unbelievable... quite an adventure for an organ-builder to see such a monument to our art firsthand ... one can hardly imagine the effect when all is restored and working perfectly..."

I wish to recommend this recording to all as it provides a clear cut snapshot of the nobility and clear, singing tone which most organists would never suspect could issue from the chamber(s).

Heed the call, folks. This dear organ needs to be restored ... and soon.

Out of all the organ recordings that I have listened to over the years this one has to rank in the top five "most amazing" category! Overall, this CD is a must have for any organ fan. In addition, the CD comes with a nice booklet that contains a complete stoplist of the organ, some pictures and other goodies! Get yours today!
